Getting started
Is Goonjar free?
You can sign up and start for free.
What do I need to sign up?
A phone number. We send you a code to type in. You also give your date of birth.
Can I use it on a computer?
Yes. Use the website and link it with the app on your phone by entering a code. You do not need to type a password.
Can I look around before I sign up?
Yes. Use Look around first to see public pages without an account.
Privacy and safety
Are my chats end-to-end encrypted?
Yes, your personal chats are. One-to-one chats and group chats are end-to-end encrypted, so only the people in the chat can read the messages. Group chats are also protected on our servers. Chats inside an organization, like a shop or clinic inbox, are handled by that organization and are not end-to-end encrypted.
How do I keep my IDs and passwords safe?
Use Sandook, the private vault. It is PIN & Biometric Locked, so it asks for your PIN or fingerprint or face before it opens.
Who can see my details?
You choose. In Settings, Privacy, you set who can see your last seen, photo, about and phone number, and who can call you or find you.
How do I report or block someone?
Use Report on a post or a person to tell the moderators. Block people from Settings, Privacy, Blocked.
Organizations
Which kinds of organization can I create?
Shops, clinics, schools and clubs, societies or teams. Banking, government and other kinds are coming soon.
Can I give staff only the access they need?
Yes. Organizations have roles, so each person sees and does only what their role allows.
Your account
Can I download my data?
Yes. Go to Settings, Download your data, to get a copy as a file.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings, Security, Delete account, and confirm with your phone number. This is permanent and cannot be undone.
